About Us

We are Natalie Woolard and Nick Dotson; business partners as well as mother and son.   Two decades ago, the Jones family farm was converted from cattle to farm-raised catfish.  This was definitely a different approach to farming for my parents and Nick's grandparents. Yet, they educated themselves, took a chance and have been successful aquaculture farmers all this time.  Quite naturally Nick grew up on the farm and at an early age became his granddaddy's shadow and had a vision of his own.  Nick and I began to educate ourselves with the other aspects of the aquaculture industry - primarily crawfish production.  As the potential to retire a catfish pond came into sight, we began the discussions of creating NLN Farms LLC and leasing the pond for crawfish. 

 We have had countless hours of discussions with my parents/ Nick's grandparents; mentoring us on the potential pitfalls as well as the rewards that come with farming.  After two long years of preparing, learning all we can from the NC Crawfish Association members, our NC Extension Agent and NCDA&CS staff, we are finally open for business!  We are so thankful for all of our family, neighbors and friends that have encouraged us all along the way.  

This has been a real dream for us and are excited to bring locally grown crawfish to Beaufort and surrounding counties!
